Georita Harriott (British, b. 1960)

Georita Harriott is an RHS gold medal winning artist who lives in Cambridge. She is well-known for her contributions to Curtis's Botanical Magazine, including all the plant portraits for the recent edition devoted to the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, and also to a Botanical Magazine Monograph on the genus Lavandula. Her work is held in a number of public and private collections and she continues to work for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
In 2010 Georita was commissioned to paint for Fitzwilliam Museum Enterprises, producing decorative images for card designs. She is currently working on vellum and using gold leaf to embellish her new designs she is expanding her portfolio of work in exciting new directions, to include small jewelled paintings of butterflys, iridescent beetles, shells, seed pods and berries, flowers and foliage.

Georita works in both watercolour and body colour to give substance to the painted image. In her botanical watercolours she uses the methods of European miniature painting, using the tip of the brush to delineate form and tonality.

The contemporary botanical prints range from exotic Passion flowers to kitchen garden fruits. The exquisite prints show a number of specimens for the most part from the collections at the Cambridge University Botanic Garden.

The prints are in a limited edition of 500, each numbered and signed by the artist. They are printed on archival paper using lightfast inks.
